The Family Shocks formed in 2007 when Dave Pression ,June Gloom and best friend Adam Angst decided after drinking lots of Jolt Cola and listening to TSOL, Alice Cooper ,Billie Holiday and the Virgin Prunes to start a band to express themselves and start their evil plot to take over the world.
They then met Violet Vineyard who’s real name is Sashelle Hedrick who played bass in Mosquito and Horrors Of Toledo and they had mutual musical tastes and love for Pizza and cheesecake.
The Family Shocks play a blend of Punk ,Industrial ,Post Punk ,Gothic ,Indie Rock , Rock all blended into one pot .The outcome is an energetic angst ridden ride on a crooked roller coaster that is a sound like Billie Holiday ,The Cramps ,Johnny Cash ,Interpol, Killing Joke meets Tiny Tim meets Don Ho .
The Family Shocks are located in Orange County and have played locally at The Vault 350,DiPiazzas ,Hogue Barmichaels ,Ultra Longue ,Doll Hut, Knitting Factory ,The Roxy , and opened for The Deadly Syndrome ,Dusty Rhodes and the Little River band, Penus Flytrap , Frankenstein and others …..
They have a record coming out on new label Vamped Records www.myspace.com/vampedrecord which is run by Sashelle’s parents Lisa Christine and Sash former promoters of Hot Pants atr Mr.Ts Bowl who booked the famous Breeders reunion in 2001 with the other members of the Pixies watching and who are former teen runaways and musicians who were homeless when they met in Los Angeles and a year later had Sashelle.They worked at legendary Los Angeles Clubs Scream and Cathouse,The Krypt ,The Olympic and more .
Their debut is a 12 song album with such titles as “Spanking Babies” ,”Transexual” ,”Everything Ends”,”Stepdad” and “ All eyes on me just to name a few.
June Gloom and Adam Angst have been replaced by Ryan Ransom on guitar who Violet and Dave met at a Palm Reading in and Russ insane on drums and their lineup is a rejuvenated tornado ready to take your town.
Dave Pression is a very shy person who turns into this Iggy like person once he hits the stage .
He is a very serious person with a twisted sense of Humour and he is a one of a kind character and not one of your average Orange County kids. One of his favorite foods and past times is eating fresh green beans and making art out of the skins..
He is very influenced by Nick Cave(Birthday Party era) ,Edward Gorey and Ian Curtis and it reflects their music.
KXLU FM in Los Angeles has had The Family Shocks live in the studio and plays their not yet released record .
They are planning on a tour soon and a few major labels have contacted their management about possibly releasing it as a joint Vamped Records venture.

Jailbird, born Jeffrey Sayer in 1978 in Olympia, Washington, is destined to be a rap superstar; the kind of superstar that understands a good hook, strong songwriting and the importance of a great performance. Jailbird's critics say he may be as good as Eminem. Jailbird is a Rap Artist that plans on being a Grammy Nominee.


HUD was born Anthony Hudson in Memphis, Tennessee in April of 1971. A Rap Artist who loves performing, HUD began entertaining in early 1986 at talent shows. His mother, who fell upon hard times while HUD was young, was a former background singer for the likes of B. B. King and other popular Memphis recording artists and is credited for introducing HUD to the profession of music.


Mr. Rakafela, born Alvin E. Kirton III in Oakland, California in July of 1973, was highly influenced in the early 1990s by the success of Tupac Shakur and Shock G from Digital Underground. Being deeply rooted in Tupac and Digital's cliques, Mr. Rakafela developed a Funk/Hip Hop mix which he displays in his latest masterpiece, "Tale of a New Legend" featuring Shock G, Humpty Hump, and Jailbird.
