Environmental and Sustainability Expo, Local Art, Silent Auction, Guest Speaker, Great Food, Live Folk, Bluegrass, Blues & Tribute Music & Dancing!

The Canyon Land Conservation Fund, a local non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and protecting the few remaining wild lands of the Santa Ana Mountains, is hosting The OC TreeHuggr's Ball and Green Expo on June 1st, 2013 at the Santiago Event Center near the proposed Blackstar Wilderness Park in Silverado Canyon. The festive event will include an environmental expo, local art show, silent auction, guest speakers, no host bar, live music and dancing. Grass fed beef or Vegetarian dinner can be purchased at low cost. The OC’s favorite vegan food truck “Seabirds” will be selling fabulous dinner choices at the event. Guests will be entertained with award winning Americana Folk music, a special guest Blues performance, followed by one of the OC’s favorite tribute bands! It's a fun event for all ages so carpool on over to the ball! Daryl Hannah returned to last year’s ball to help guide us into a more sustainable future. Daryl is Hollywood’s most environmentally active activist who actually “walks the talk!”

This year’s Tree Hugger's Ball in Blackstar Canyon (Silverado), CA, is a chance to experience the beautiful canyon areas we are striving to preserve while helping to educate the community about our vanishing wild spaces, and our vital part as stewards of the earth. Along with other environmental festivities, manufacturers of green products and services will be exhibiting at our event. Last year our expo presented fuel efficient, biodiesel & veggie cars, alternative energy, nutrition & native plant companies, and local environmental groups such as the Sierra Club, Santiago Creek Watershed Project, Friends of the Foothills and other grass roots organizations. We have recently become an acclaimed “ZERO WASTE” event thanks to the leadership of Stephanie Barger and the Earth Resource Foundation! With onsite composting, reusable dinnerware and recycling efforts, our 2010-2012 events generated only ONE bag of trash! Wear an earthy costume and bring your own reusable dinnerware to receive free raffle tickets for prizes!
