WHAT: The American Diabetes Association will host its first annual The Art of Wine. This Wine Tasting and Art show is sponsored by local companies throughout Orange County and supported by the Father of the Year, Father’s Day Council.

Discover a wine and culinary adventure, including food from many local area restaurants and wines from around the world. An art exhibit hosted by the “Artery” at the Lab, a silent auction and music from local entertainers will round out the afternoon.

WHY: Today, there are nearly 24 million Americans—including approximately 250,000 people in Orange County - who have diabetes. Unfortunately, 5.7 million people are unaware that they have the disease. On any given day, 1 out of 5 hospital beds has a patient suffering from diabetes in it. YOU can make a difference.

Funds raised by this event will go toward the American Diabetes Association whose mission is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

Let me start off by saying, I know first hand how it feels to create something that you think the world should be in on. A piece you put your heart and soul into, just as worthy of praise as any pop culture phenomenon currently flowing through the brains and from the tongs of the masses. Only to fall short of legitimate venues of which to capitalize on. Myspace has fizzled out as far as new talent promotion goes, Twitter is full of b.s., it's time a new network emerged. One driven by talent, skill, and creativity. A network by artist for artist and with artistic creation as the backbone. My name's Nate, I have been graphically designing for about 3 years now, specializing in urban contemporary art. While looking for ways to promote and display my work, I realized the lack of reputable online galleries. And then a light bulb flashed on. Why don't I start one? After all, I have always felt that my eye for good work has been slightly better than my ability to create it. So I gathered a few of my artist buddies and began working on a blog, www.greenandgraphic.blogspot.com . We also began designing and brainstorming a web page geared towards all things artistic. If you have an artistic flare that you feel the world should see, you can display and promote your work on the blog for free. Once the site is up and running, it will feature a sell your work section where you will be able to not only get your stuff seen, but actually earn cash for your efforts. He grew up in Orange County skateboarding, writing graffiti and playing various punk rock and metal garage bands. His paintings and illustrations are heavily influenced through his artistic charisma as he paints and draws with high energy and flowy swagger.

For the last 10 years Alex has been creating art for various companies in the lifestyle and action sports industry. Most recently he has been working as an in-house artist for Paul Frank Industries and also has been a part of the local gallery scene.

Maria Abuela her self. Maria is the owner of this fine establishment. She coordinates all of our delicious and well balanced nutritional meals with the help of our on call dietitian. Maria’s qualifications exceed that of most. She has had 35 years of child care experience as well as hospital emergency training. And if that wasn’t enough, she has raised five beautiful children of her own.

Christina She is a co-owner experienced in working with children at risk. She attended the University of the Nations where she received her diploma in Christian Ministries. She recently returned from South Africa where she worked extensively in orphanages teaching and array of subjects and above all teaching God’s Word. She also volunteers to teach at local churches for children’s Bible camps, youth with a mission teachings, and more. She has seven years of child care experience. She will be teaching our Children’s Bible Study, and our Creative Corner Art Sessions.

I focus on thoroughly explaining the movements and help students individually to perfect their technique! The basics are crucial for any dance form and belly dancing is no different. Classes are catered specifically to the technique level of the students in the class.

Aside from learning an ancient dance form that celebrates femininity, you will be unknowingly working up a sweat too!! The movements target all six major abdominal muscles along with the thighs, butt, shoulders, and arms.
