Job Description CONSTRUCTION PROJECT ENGINEER Irvine-based Developer and Owner’s Representative is seeking an entry-level Project Engineer to assist the Construction Manager on the site of a significant project in Anaheim, CA. Duties will include: Helping to ensure that construction meets quality standards specified by the contract documents, project schedules, and stays within budget. Assist Construction Manager as Owner’s Representative/Liaison between the General Contractor and the Property Owner. Collect and organize (“Document Control”), utilizing the Owner’s Project Management Control System, all Project-related documents, including drawings and specifications, RFIs, submittals, schedules, Change Order Requests and Pay Applications from the General Contractor. Assure that all parties are using the latest approved set of construction drawings. Production of Reports, budget and schedule updates, presentations, meeting minutes, etc. to disseminate within the project team. Tracking and expediting the closure of RFIs through the Project Management Control System. Coordinating project team meetings; recording and distributing meeting minutes. Monitor and document jobsite progress, safety, and accident prevention in conjunction with the Contractor. Attend and document progress, safety, site coordination, and ad hoc meetings. Understand and administer contract terms and conditions; review & expedite construction directives and Change Order Requests. Review cost reports and participate in various financial and project review meetings. Review Cost Reports and coordinate with the Project Accountant and Project Estimator to ensure accuracy of budget revisions and cost coding. Coordinate between the Contractor and the Owner’s Deputy Inspection company for all required third-party testing and inspections. Qualifications/Skills Required: Zero to three (3) years of building construction experience. Hospitality experience a plus. Four-year college degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture. Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite of programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, and Power Point). Knowledge and understanding of construction contract documents. Knowledge and understanding of estimating, scheduling, and engineering principles and techniques. Good organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
