CAN START IMMEDIATELY , UPON COMPLETION OF SCREENING. Job Summary: You, as an AMS Healthcare Registered Nurse, will promote and restore patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; supervising assigned team members. Job Functions: -Assist physicians and all healthcare professionals when caring for patient, always giving a complete and thorough report on patient status at end of shift/assignment to supervising nurse. -Assessment, census, medication count at beginning and end of shift -Patient transfer and admission (complete all paper work per facility requirements) -Supervising LVN, CNA & para-medicals associated with the daily functions of the floor -Follow hospital policy when disposing of biohazardous materials, labeling and handling of all materials. -Treatments: wounds dressings, ostomies (GT, NGT, foley catheter, central lines, dialysis ports) -Practices patient teaching/training for patients and families according to plan of care. -Distribute prescribed medications to assigned patients orally, topically, subcutaneously, intradermal and intramuscularly. -Will be knowledgeable of all medications, reactions, and dosage requirements. -Must exhibit empathetic written and verbal communication style with residents, families, and associates. -Will handle and be knowledgeable of all medical equipment utilized in the care of the patient. -Consistently seek educational tools and in-services in order to broaden knowledge base of various age groups, diseases, and best practices. -Able to perform various sensory requirements such as; vision, speech, smell, touch, manual dexterity, fine motor skills, and hearing in order to assess and treat the patient accurately.
