The Legal Aid Society of Orange County (LASOC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was founded in 1958 for the purpose of providing civil legal services to low income individuals and seniors. It has two offices in Orange County and two offices in Southeast Los Angeles County, where it is known as Community Legal Services (CLS). LASOC seeks an individual for its Small Claims Court Unit and Lawyer Referral Service Unit who possesses excellent communication skills and is able to handle a large volume of calls, maintain and prepare statistical reports, perform data entry and navigate the Internet (visit www.legal-aid.com for more information about us). Under the supervision of the Directing Attorney , this position is responsible for providing information regarding Small Claims actions including being able to answer questions from the public about filing claims, presenting claims, and collecting judgments. In addition, the duties related to the Society’s Lawyers Referral Service (LRS) involve making referrals to private attorneys participating on the Society’s LRS panels, following up on all referrals with appropriate forms and responding to emails.
