The Business Development Director performs the critical function of promoting and selling the Company's services within a specified geographic territory, and importantly, to expand our current and potential client base while fostering strong and sustainable client relationships. The scope of this effort is to include pharmaceutical companies, biotech companies, medical device manufacturers and new markets where appropriate. Develop Sales plans/projections to maximize sales growth and to minimize costs. Review strategy and objectives, formulate territory plans to ensure success of agreed-upon market development strategy. Qualify and communicate business development opportunities internally, as indicated by customers in the market place. Collaborate with Sales and Marketing group to improve customer focus and increase revenue from current clients and targeted prospects. Provide input regarding identification and selection of promotional tools for the Company such as: online presence, trade shows to attend, conferences, brochures, catalogs, direct mail campaigns, etc. Represent the Company at national and regional trade shows. Submit weekly metrics report to management and maintain in CRM. Maintain compliance with budget guidelines and company sales policies. B.S. in Life Sciences with a 6+ years of proven sales experience in CDMO Sales & Business Development with an emphasis on aseptic drug product manufacturing. This is a firm requirement for the role. Demonstrated experience meeting or exceeding sales goals and driving the sales process from plan to close. Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to take programs from concept to execution and manage all stages. Strong ability to communicate, present and influence. Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of services and successfully position services against competitors. Excellent listening and negotiation skills. Organized administrator who efficiently manages time, resources and workload. Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Strong understanding of drug development process is a plus.
