Job Description Job Description : The Power Engineer for the Base Engineering Division must demonstrate proficiency on the following areas and be capable of performing the tasks listed below. (1) Must be proficient in electrical engineering principles such as power flows and short-circuit of three-phase systems. Must be proficient with software environment and different operating systems (Windows, 7, 8, 10, etc.) and data storage protocols like MS Sequel server and local db. The engineer will apply software configuration and interface principles to perform software installation and customer support for approximately 30% of the time. (2) Have completed at least two or more of the following basic level Power System Analysis courses in their graduate program: Power System Load Flow, Short-circuit Analysis, Power System Protection/Coordination, Electrical Safety, etc., etc. (3) Possess logical/analytical skills in order to expand and/or generate new test procedures per ETAP Quality Assurance requirements including the identification, logging and testing of assigned software feature issues. The engineer will spend approximately 30% of his/her time using these skills to create QA related tests. (4) Be proficient with MS Office. The engineer will use these tools to perform the tasks and responsibilities described in (1) and (3) for approximately 10% of the time. (5) Demonstrate strong communication and writing skills and be team oriented to interact with engineers in different projects and report project status. Also to provide technical support for products in response to technical queries from customers/clients. The candidate should possess teaching skills as well. The engineer shall use the communication skills described in this section for approximately 30% of his/her time to support consulting projects and technical user support.
