Job Description Arcules, a new Canon venture, is looking for an experienced IoT Software Engineer to architect, build and connect the cameras to our new VSaaS cloud IoT-as-a-service platform. Canon has invested many millions into the project, and are looking for strong engineers who want career stability and to work with new and emerging technologies with a perennial industry-leader (they have committed 3 years worth of funding to the project and have lots of planned growth, so getting in now will give you more opportunities to grow soonr than later). This is an exciting opportunity to help push the industry forward as this is an enterprise R&D engineering group (the first generation of the platform was Milestone Arcus) focused on an untapped enterprise market segment. It's also an opportunity to build the platform of a large enterprise product from ground zero. Responsibilities: Design system architecture and develop software tools for the deployment of IoT products Design, develop, and troubleshoot software solutions using Microservices design principals, serverless design patterns, and event-driven systems Develop data acquisition practices for Arcus customers and design data ingestion pipelines for all of IoT Engineer the necessary cloud infrastructure for deploying IoT components. Work with the engineering teams to integrate seamless IoT solutions into the overall Arcus cloud infrastructure Collaborate with Principal IoT Engineer, product owners(s) and several development teams throughout the product lifecycle, producing timely and top quality cloud platform deliveries utilizing IoT technologies Provide technical mentoring to Junior IoT engineers Required Experience: 3+ years experience building and deploying IoT infrastructure components and building blocks SaaS experience with strong understanding of Microservices architectures, patterns and practices 5+ years experience with embedded systems level programming skills in Python, Go, or C++ Experience with hardware interface, serial and networking protocols, microcontrollers, and circuit design Experience with HTTP protocol, REST, WebSocket, SSE, and other web technologies Experience with Apache Spark, Storm, or any other big data pipeline BS in Computer Science or (Masters or PhD preferred) Company Description Addepar is the financial operating system that brings common sense and data-driven investing to our financial world.
