Hello, my name is Clark Brooks and I’m the CEO of a company called Innovative Craftsmanship, Inc. located in Newport Beach, CA. What we specialize in is general contracting for residential homes and commercial property all over Orange County and South Los Angeles. This listing is for an Executive Assistant job opening that I have at my company for a full-time, responsible, intelligent, and reliable right-hand man or woman.

First, I’d like to cover the BASIC requirements for anyone considering applying for this position:

- Must be at least 25 years of age or older and able to work in the United States
- Must be a legal U.S. Citizen
- A valid form of identification (Driver’s License, Passport, Etc.)
- A mailing address and/or a physical address
- A Social Security Number (SSN)
- A reliable car that can get you to and from work 5 days a week (valid registration and insurance)
- Live closer than 30 miles from Newport Beach, CA in any direction (exceptions may be possible)
- Have the ability to accept a CHECK every week (no cash)
- At least 2 years experience working for a company in an administrative role (construction company is preferred but not required)
- A stable personal life that would not render you incapable of coming to work 5 days a week
- Ability to work alone after receiving instructions (as well as in a team setting)
- Be creative and have the ability to think outside the box and solve problems
- A desire to better yourself, your financial situation, and thrive!!

Below is a list of the PRIMARY duties that you and I will be responsible for handling TOGETHER.

**Note that I will be working with you on all of these tasks in order to ensure proper completion of all aspects of each duty:

- Writing bids for potential clients in an organized fashion (in Excel or Word).
- Writing legal contracts for clients and workers. I will help you with the format for every contract.
- Make architectural drawings for submission to clients/for approval by numerous building departments. An example would be that I make the base sketches and you will be tightening up the drawings, dimensions, and math for submission.
- Handle incoming potential client phone calls, calling current clients, and following up when ICINC has completed a job with a client. I have phone call sheets/a simple format for every type of call you will make (as a benchmark to work off from).
- Filing insurance claims for current and potential clients. An example would be if someone had water damage due to a second story clothes washer flooding their home, then we would call the insurance companies and facilitate a claim to get the restoration job.
- Uploading photos and filing out corporate profiles on various marketing and lead generation websites (Corporate Website, Thumbtack, Home Advisor, Angie’s List, Houzz, Craigslist, Backpage, Manta, YP, Networx, Salesgenie, Craftjack, etc.).
- Uploading photos and filing out corporate profiles on various social media websites (Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+, Tumblr, Flickr, Reddit, Foursquare, Nextdoor, Meetup, etc.).
- Posting photos and company information on cell phone based apps (Instagram and Snapchat).

**Don’t worry if you haven’t heard of/haven’t worked with all of these websites or apps. I will be working with you and guide you on how they all work.

- Drafting presentations in PowerPoint to be made to potential business partners (such as realtors).
- Potentially drafting a business proposal to present to banks in the event ICINC desires a corporate loan.
- Organizing physical paperwork in corporate files and ledgers for our CPA to review.
- Updating timesheets, receipts, and emails which change on a daily basis.

Now after looking at all of these tasks being listed, all I have to say is don’t get overwhelmed by the list. As stated previously we will be working together on virtually every aspect of the administrative duties. I’m not the type of leader that’s just going to throw you in head first and then it’s sink or swim…..

Also, you should know that your opinion in this role will be highly valued. Have you ever wanted to design a kitchen, bathroom, or back yard for a client and actually see your vision come to life? Well here at ICINC with me (specifically) I can definitely make that dream a reality. I respect creative people and here (in this role) you will be given the authority and freedom to flex your creative muscle.

Additionally, you should definitely understand the trajectory that my company is on. In the past 3 weeks I hired two full-time craftsmen and a supervisor. I’m expanding this company rapidly and between now and December I’m looking to hire at least 6 more craftsmen, 1 foreman, and 1 more administrative personnel. Everything is moving forward in a big way and there is absolutely no sign of stopping. Together my team and I will turn ICINC into a power house with thousands of employees and this is your golden opportunity to get in on the ground floor of that path. I’m not someone in my 60’s or 70’s who’s going to retire in 5 years, sell his company, and leave you stranded. I have at least 45 years left in my career and the intense ambition to dominate the southern California real estate and construction industry!!

Moreover, I do everything I can to promote from within the company. That being said, I’m really looking for someone with the ambition and drive to grow the company with me and transition into a more senior role from Executive Assistant, to Director of Operations, to Chief Operating Officer (COO). That’s the path that I want for you and I hope that’s the path you want for yourself!! Trust me, I’m a no bullshit, straight shooter kind of CEO and I respect those that have the same mentality (no passive aggressive bs).

Now here is my initial offer which may be up for negotiations based upon experience level and skill set:

Starting salary is $15.00/hour beginning on day one. You will get a $300 signing bonus once hired on your first day. Your official status at the company will be a 1099 Independent Contractor for the first six months. After the first six months you will be eligible for W-2 status. You will receive a check EVERY FRIDAY that will clear in full. You are required to complete 42.5 hours of work every week minimum (you get a 30-minute paid lunch 5 days a week which is how I derived the 42.5 hour minimum requirement). You will be on a probationary period for 90 days (simply meaning you should put your best foot forward within this time period). On day 90 I will be increasing your hourly salary to $20.00/hour and give you a bonus for services rendered during day 1-90 in the amount of $5.00/hour for all hours completed; minus your signing bonus (here’s the math: $2,550 back pay - $300 signing bonus = $2,250 check on day 90). On day 90 you will now be eligible to receive project completion bonuses on selected projects. At the six month mark your hourly salary will be increased to $27.50/hour, you will be eligible for W-2 status, be eligible to receive even more project completion bonuses, and be eligible to begin receiving a commission on the majority of sales completed by you. Your commission rate on each sale completed by you in full will be 2.5% of the profit (i.e. if ICINC makes $100,000 on a $650,000 project (as an example) then you get a $2,500 commission check). Compensation will continue to rise periodically throughout your entire career and the higher you rise in the company (a.k.a. the more people you manage) the higher your total compensation package will be!!

And just so you know, this job requires you to travel to Newport Beach, CA every day (Monday - Friday). We work from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM every day, and sometimes later if everyone wants the work/wants to get some project completed.
